You can either use 'Discount Codes' or 'Password Protected Tickets' to provide some of your registrants (e.g. VIP's, members, etc.) discounted tickets.
Discount Codes are probably the best way to provide discounted tickets as they are extremely flexible and easy to set-up. For instance you can set up a Discount Code that;
- applies to one, some or all of your tickets
- is a fixed dollar discount (e.g. $50 discount) or a percentage discount (e.g. 50%)
- only applies for a given period of time (from - to date range)
- has limited use (e.g. can only be used 10 times)
To create a Discount Code you will need to;
- Select 'Menu'
- Select 'Tickets'
- Select 'Discounts'
- Select 'Add Discount Code'
- Complete the following fields (* denotes mandatory)
- Code - this is the code your registrant must enter into the 'Discount Code' field in the registration page of your event site to obtain the discount
- Discount* - select either 'Value' ($) or 'Percentage' (%) and enter discount to be provided
- Discount Description* - enter an easy to recognise description for yourself to easily identify the discount code, this will not be seen by your registrant
- Number of tickets this code can apply to - enter a number to set how many times the discount code can be used before it expires (e.g. 10 = discount code only valid for 10 tickets)
- Only apply to the following tickets - select the tickets to which the discount code applies, if blank it will apply to all tickets
- Start Date - select the date and time after which the discount code becomes active
- End Date - select the date and time after which the discount code becomes in-active
- Save
This will create a Discount Code which when used will reduce the displayed price of applicable tickets by the set discount amount/percentage.
Password Protected Tickets only appear on your event site once the correct password is entered. To create a Password Protected Ticket you will need to;
- Login to your event
- Select 'Menu'
- Select 'Tickets'
- Select 'Add Ticket'
- Enter all the ticket details (e.g. Ticket Name, Quantity, Price - discounted)
- Select 'Advanced Ticket Settings'
- iCreate a password for the 'Password' field
- Select 'Save'
This will create a ticket which will only be revealed for purchase once the correct password has been entered by the registrant. Therefore the discounted ticket will only be available for those registrants that have the correct password.
